Managing Risk & Developing a Plan

Due to the complexities of developing a comprehensive set of Sport Injury and Risk Management practices its best to use up to date resources that are contained on this website to help and asisst. 

It's also important, particularly clubs, to recognise current existing policies, Sport Injury and Risk Management initiatives or by- laws from the relevant National or State governing body before embarking on developing new practices.

Developing a plan shouldn't be a daunting task.  There is generic aspects that are transferable to all Sport Injury and Risk Management practices. Examples of areas considered largely generic and transferable which become a great starting point to begin developing a comprehensive plan are;

  • Planning (Supervision, Safe playing environment etc)
  • Emergency Plan
  • Physical Preparation
  • First Aid
  • Alcohol & Drugs

From this point it then becomes a matter of identifying specific issues within the relevant sport to complete a comprehensive Sport Injury and Risk Management document.  An example of a completed document, can be found by clicking here
